Large best Cobalt Blue Raku Ceramic Cat

Cobalt Blue Raku Ceramic Cat was hand molded using the pinch pot technique. He was then allowed to air dry for 7 days, glazed with three coats of Duncan underglazes. A final two coats of Spectrum Raku Clear overglaze was applied. The cats were then put into our home made Raku gas kiln for 7 hours, taking the temperature up slowly until the glazes matured. Removed from the kiln at around 1750 Fahrenheit and allowed the glazes to crack before putting the cats into a barrel of sawdust, where the smoke plays its magic. The cats were then immersed into buckets of cool water where they cool down before the final scrubbing process takes place.
