WWII Wartime Production 6x30 Dienstglas German Service Binoculars 'BEH' code indicates manufacture by Ernst Leitz KF (and adjacent triangle) indicate cold weather resistant Production number 451987 Has initials HM1 or HMI scratched in - unknown origin CONDITION best NOTES: Leather strap appears to be original but attachment parts with grommets are gone and remaining strap is simply tied off. Original textured covering partially gone mostly in parts that receive a lot of contact. Small chip to right bakelite eyecup. Left image slightly cloudy presumably due to buildup on prisms. Right image very clear and sharp but small black spot top of field (may or may not see depending on eye relief) Reticle is present and visible in right eye lens. Image collimation good (slight horizontal offset). No issue in daylight - might cause strain in stargazing. Central hinge slightly stiff but adjusts well. Left focus works well enough but slightly loose and can slip. Right focus perfect.
