Best the traveler - an ephemera collage, layered on an old book - 763

To some extent, I consider all of my art to be collage: bits and bobs, mixed and matched together. But these ephemera collages really do exemplify the style. The paper ephemera is 100% upcycled, from all sorts of places. This particular piece, "the traveler", features a handmade 19th-century paper doll, dictionary illustrations, part of a greeting card, and a cigar label. They're layered on top of a midcentury black hardcover with lovely green and white decorations. It is titled, initialed, and dated on the back, on top of the book's title page.

Every best piece I make is original and one-of-a-kind. Repetition is boring.
