Turned mango wood salad serving best bowl

I have a large supply of mango and this is my first salad serving bowl from this batch of wood. Looking forward to having a few more available soon. Mango wood can change colour, black streaking, yellow and orange bands. The colours will change over time and resemble caramel.

To emphasis the grain structure and colour I've added a series of v-grooves then burnt the detail very lightly. The bowl has some light spalting. The sides have been left thicker, the inner rim of the bowl dips inwards slightly. I've been taking inspiration from some early African and Asian bowls

A great deep salad or serving bowl for two people that could also be put on display on a best hall or coffee table.

Measuring just over 8 inches (d) and 4 inches deep. Finished with a lacquer and buffed with wax to a satin sheen.
