Every feminist should own this book! Published a year after her death (1955), this is a collection of 7 stories written by Sidonie-Gabrielle Collette. It includes her most famous tale, Gigi, which went on to become a movie.
Colette herself is a fascinating character. She began ghostwriting for her husband in 1900, and later fought to establish herself as a female write, publishing under her own name. best Though married to men, she preferred women. Collette was in a five year relationship with Missy, also known as Max, who was pronounced female at birth but identified as a man as an adult. The 2018 film, Colette, starring Kiera Knightly, is based on the author's life.
