Ande Rooney 1991 collectible Hershey's Milk Chocolate porcelain sign. The sign features a black & white milk cow with the words "HERSHEY'S MILK CHOCOLATE" on the side of the cow. It reads Made On The Farm below the cow. Trademark of Hershey Foods Corp, Ande Rooney, Inc., Licensee, 1991 Hershey Foods Corporation.

The porcelain sign measures 7 1/2 inches high X 10 11/16 inches long. This piece is in good vintage condition with minor wear. It has 2 grommets over the holes on the bottom but none on the 2 holes on the top. No loss of paint on those holes so maybe it never had the grommets on those 2 holes. Today, these advertising signs are a collectible art form.

Rooney's enameled signs are authentic reproductions utilizing the same process popularized in the early 1900's. These colors are not paints, but finely ground glass crystals which, when kiln fired at 1350 F, fuse to the heavy steel plate.
