I designed these hats to keep from getting wet when I was feeding my horses in rain or snow. I did this because it was dangerous to be moving horses around with a hood up, as a hood does not allow side vision. With large animals it is important to know what they are doing while you are trying to shut a gate in a thunder storm. One can be seriously hurt.! So I decided I needed a water repellent hat and started The Keswick Hat Company, LLC. These hats are made of 100% cotton which has been waxed to repel water. They are good around the farm, yet dressy enough to wear to town. Ladies like them as they keep their hair dry. With one of my hats, you do not need to put an umbrella up or down when getting in or out of your car in rain. Nor do you have to hold onto an umbrella in addition to your purse and groceries. Just put your hat on.

Men really like these hats as well. It best is fun to see men trying them on. My Charlotte design with the double band is excellent for the rounder face as the double banding takes the eye across, making this hat very flattering.

I sell four colors, solid black, solid navy, my brown hat is trimmed in olive green and my green hat is trimmed in brown. Oh, yes, we do match most waxed coats on the market. My Navy hat is lined with a 100% cotton navy and red plaid lining. My black, brown, and olive hats are lined with a 100% cotton green and black plaid lining.
