Best reclaimed wooden chest, crackle and crab

Darkling Crafts is a shop focused on being environmentally conscious. Many items were purchased in thrift stores or charity shops and transformed into what you can see before you. This is one of those items. The box is legitimately around 40 years old and was handmade by a gentleman who just loved to dabble in crafts in his spare time. When he made the box, it was simply wooden. Before it was passed on to me, the chest was used to store pencils and crayons, thin brushes and similar items.
I am quite attached to it because I never expected the crackle to come out so beautifully. I work with crackle paint quite often but it rarely is a centerpiece of my items. In this case it came out so gorgeously it needed nothing but a subtle underlining of how well it came out - hence the crab image transfer. As usual, the image is a genuine vintage illustration from an old book this time (usually I use old commercials!) and it's just black and white. The details come out beautifully on the wood and crackle.
It can easily be seen as unfinished since the inside has been painted white and nothing else. It absolutely can be modified further. Dear customer - if you like what you see, but would prefer me to finish the interior in a different way - do not hesitate to write me. I will gladly re-paint the interior or cover it with a fabric. best
