Fine Art Mix best Media: "Stand"

Titled "Stand," this mixed media piece incorporates a unique image transfer technique that creates a stunning, layered result.

A little about some of the elements present in this work of art: I created this image in Adobe Photoshop with some of my own photographs. For this edition, I printed the image on a piece of transfer film that reacted to specially treated piece of acrylic glass.

After I transferred the image onto the acrylic, I mounted the glass to a thin piece of illustration board. The transfer process makes each image a one-of-a-kind piece. Small imperfections, like distressed edges occur. I added subtle color to the back board with oil paints to enhance the original image.

DISPLAY & CARE: This image would easily fit in a traditional frame. When I frame these works, I usually pop out the glass from the frame. The best acrylic is protective enough on its own. To clean, just wipe the acrylic with a microfiber cloth. Avoid glass cleaning products like Windex. A cleaner formulated for acrylics or plastic should be safe, but always test in a small corner first.
