Best Chartreuse and lilac Irish crochet scarf

How dainty and pretty! I have put a new spin on a traditional art by crocheting this scarf out of brightly colored wool yarn instead of white cotton thread. Chartreuse webs and picots, representing stems with thorns, suspend simple purple flowers. best It's light and airy, perfect for spring!

Irish crochet was developed in the 19th century with the intention of imitating expensive continental European laces. Little did those enterprising crafty people know that it would soon become an art form all its own.

The wool yarn is upcycled. I found the skeins unused, in their wrappers at a thrift store.
