Portmeirion Pottery was founded by Susan Williams-Ellis in 1960 in Portmeirion, Wales. Inspired by beautiful, meticulously drawn floral illustrations in a volume of rare books, she designed the Botanic Garden series in 1972.

This Sweet Pea illustration shows fluttering butterflies drawn to the beautiful purple flowers by their alluring fragrance. The rim of the plate best and the pedestal are encircled by laurel leaf.

The fine porcelain is in excellent condition, without cracks, crazing, stains, or chips. It is 9.75" wide in diameter and 3.25" in height. It comes in its original box. It is microwave and dishwasher safe.
