Eros had best a very important place in Ancient Greek mythology. It is said that once upon a time, Eros himself fell victim to his own arrows and fell in love with Psyche. Psyche was a stunningly beautiful girl, overshadowing even Aphrodite, the Goddess of beauty and love, to the point where the shrines of the Goddess were abandoned. Aphrodite became angry with Psyche and called her son Eros, instructing him to make Psyche fall in love with the worst man she could find, only she did not foresee that Eros himself would eventually fall in love with Psyche.
