Her activism focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. She read her poem "The Hill We Climb" at our 46th President, Joe Biden's Inaugeration January 20th, 2021. Amanda's reading, energy, and aura inspired my watercolor and collage creation!
