best Antique Late Victorian period circa 1880's Small sized Roundel/Portal shaped Mourning Locket in Rolled Gold set with a crystal glass cover beneath which resides a woven plait of hair of the decased as traditional with the period.
The Locket features a floral-patterned bezel and is finished to the reverse with chased details in the form of flowers enclosing a shield type cartouche to teh lower half vacant of engraving.
The top of the locket is intact with static lug so as to serve for when fitting with a jump ring and chain so as to wear about the neck or on the person.
the Locket will benefit from a clean, shows heavy tarnishing but is otherwise intact and still very much wearable.
The locket can be opened to the front via way of a gilded bezel to the crystal glass cover, enabling oe to remove stored contents and replace as desierd.
