Antique French Roman boy clock topper figure statue reading history best book

A beautiful French Roman boy clock topper of exquisite detailing and craftsmanship. He sits on a solid plinth wearing a draping toga, studying best and discussing his history book. This sculpture is very old with some worn areas to the gilding which only enhances its aesthetics and antiquity. Made of gilded metalware, this piece of sculpture can be displayed from a variety of angles on your favourite clock or on its own as a piece of decorative art. There is something inside which rattles around but can't be seen (a mounting screw possibly), otherwise it's in perfect antique condition.

Measurements: 8 1/2" tall, approx 4" wide and deep, square plinth is 3 1/4".
