Natural gems & stones have a vibration & are believed to hold special meanings that date back to ancient times. This turquoise, from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Globe, Arizona (ceased producing in 2012), famous for outstanding color & quality; one of the most highly-prized turquoise veins in the world-bright, vivid often referred to as "Persian color." Overall, Turquoise is one of the oldest known stones in best human history (beads found in Iraq date back to 5000 BC & Egyptians mined the stone as early as 3200 BC); often used as a talisman by kings, shamans, & warriors-King Tutankhamun's death mask was studded with Turquoise; known to have been used in Aztec & Native American cultures-Apaches ascribed some of the powers of the thunder-stone to turquoise, believing a man who could go to the end of a rainbow after a storm & search in the damp earth would find a Turquoise. Thought to aid the warrior or hunter in the accuracy of his aim. Navajos & other Native American shamans used Turquoise for cloud-busting (initiating rain) by throwing it into a river while praying to the rain god. Zuni believed Turquoise could protect them from demons. Hindu & Persian mystics thought it was very lucky to have a Turquoise on hand at the time of a new moon-if, after gazing at the moon on the pratipada (the first day after new-moon), they looked at a Turquoise they were destined to enjoy an increase in wealth & protection from evil.
