Vintage '60s/'70s Japanese Tooled Leather best Nesting Boxes w/ Gorgeous Carved Pagoda Scenery & Glittery Lacquered Interior

Gorgeous set of Japanese leather & lacquered nesting boxes in nice vintage condition. As pictured, you can see that there's a bit of surface dirt on the boxes and that the smaller one varies in color, I assume because it's been kept inside of the larger box for the better part of the last 60 years. I'm fairly certain these would clean up quite nicely, but I'm not letting my clumsy self risk ruining them by attempting to do it myself.

This piece came from a small batch of treasures from a friend who's father lived/worked in Japan in the early '70s. This was one of the "presentos" given to her family!
No printing, stamps, or makers mark present. I'm pretty sure the outer covers are a lovely, thin leather, carved and beautifully painted. There are stitches near the corners on the top and bottom of each box. Inside is a super dark, shiny black lacquer with golden sparkles best. The large box measures approximately 13.25 x 10.5 x 4 inches, the smaller box measures 11 x 8.5 x 3.5 inches.
