Description

Product Name: Antique Blue best Transferware Jug - Creamware - c. 1830

This blue transferware pitcher has great style. It was made in the 1830's by Cambrian Pottery in Wales, and the scenery on the jug is fascinating. There are boats, gazebos, castles, flowers, and two very large birds. Inside the rim are assorted flowers. The jug is unmarked, but I found the maker through this website: https://www.davidlay.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-1138---five-cambrian-pottery-swansea-jugs-variously/?lot=34550&so=4&st=cambrian&sto=0&au=&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=1&pp=24&pn=1&g=1

The condition of this pitcher is good, considering it's almost 200 years old. It has no chips. It does have a crack, but it seems superficial and doesn't go through to the inside of the jug. See photo #6. There is crazing, but best it's fairly light. There's a little staining, including on the rim, the top of the handle and some inside the pitcher. Please see the photos for more detail.

The base of the pitcher is 3 1/4" in diameter, and it's 6 1/2" tall from the base to the top of the handle.
