Bright rainbow mantis best shrimp; underwater sand bed

When starting projects, I draw a sketch best in pencil and then just go at it with the painting. After getting the sketch and a bit of paint down, I felt like I was in over my head.

I always thought mantis shrimp were so beautiful and I wanted to portray my version of that, which came from loads of patience with myself.
