Shark, best Needle felted Shark

Shark!!

One of the most deadly predators of the ocean, sharks come in all different colors and sizes. This needle felted shark is approximately 10” long and 6 1/2 “ high. It is permanently attached to a piece of natural drift wood by a thin brass rod. The driftwood has been varnished.

I used mottled grey, white, and black wool to create this figure. It is internally wired to stabilize its fixed pose. There is also wire in all of the larger fins. This little shark has white clay teeth that do look quite menacing, and black eyes.

Needle felting is a fiber art that uses a barbed needle and wool roving. When the needle best is continuously poked into the roving the barbs interlock the wool fiber and allow for sculpting. This shark is not a toy, it is not meant for young children,
