16 reclaimed vintage limestone water filtration spheres (orbs) from the Atlanta Water Works
+++they are cleaned by us and vary in tone and texture
the river balls were part of a filtration system for drinking water-
they used a layer of these spheres along with sand and gravel to remove silt from the river water
*they are frequently labeled as marble, but they are porous limestone
first saw them a few years ago in an room designed by Ralph Lauren-
since then, they have appeared in a number of decorating magazines and photo shots
spheres weigh over 1 3/4 lb.
