Vintage 1950s Studio Pottery Bird best Sculpture, Signed, An exceptional and charmingly awkward studio pottery bird sculpture - at least I think.
Description
best An exceptional, and charmingly awkward, studio pottery bird sculpture - at least I think it's a bird? Hand-built in a ochre stoneware, it has a hollow lumpen body and a swerving neck on which is perched a cute little head, questioningly cocked, topped with a crest of plumes. It is glazed in a fabulous swampy grey-green with blue and olive crystalline rivulets.
In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
Stamped to lower side, to be attributed.
