Raymond Peynet a French illustrator and designer was born in Paris in 1908. He became a popular household name in the 1950s and 60s when his pair of 'Lovers' shot to prominence internationally, especially in France. His art appeared in prints, cards, ceramics, tea-trays, key-rings, etc. Peynet designed for Rosenthal between 1955 and 1965 and his pieces are one of the most desired collectables.
