1840s best Homespun Child's Cap

best White cotton homespun baby cap dating to early 1840s. Completely hand stitched. Name on cap is A. A. Sherburne. Alice Alma Sherburne was born in 1840 in Wrentham Norfolk, Massachusetts and died in 1863. It appears that she died without having married or having children. She came from an early American New England family. Very good condition for age with a few spots. Measures 19" around the face and 11" around the nape. Deaccessioned from the prestigious Society of the Cincinnati collection of prominent early American families.
