1890s The Poetical Works of William Cowper / Warne & Co., London / Lansdowne Poets / Beautifully Bound best / Excellent Condition / Illustrated

In excellent condition here is a beautiful antique copy of The Poetical Works of William Cowper. Undated but would have been published in the 1890s by Frederick Warne & Co., London in their Lansdowne Poets series. In a lovely binding and with eight black and white illustrations from engravings. At time of writing I have a number of other matching titles in different colours (see final photo).

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound, with just the occasional bit of spotting to the outside edges. Has a couple of inscriptions on the verso of the best frontispiece dated 1904 and 1922 but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Each page of text is in a red border. Has a portrait frontispiece with tissue guard. Gilt edged on all sides and this has remained shiny bright.

In a beautiful olive-green binding. Cloth covered boards have a plain cloth inset cut-away with gilt and black stamped floral decoration to the front and spine and blind stamping to the back board. All in top order with just a little pulling to the head of the spine. Looking extremely eye-catching on display.
