OOAK Raspberry Suede Love best Totem Art Doll

Portia "I stand in best the shadow of your love."

Portia is a one of a kind handmade art doll. She was made from a beautiful vintage raspberry suede that I then embellished with two different gold fabric paints. There is a free hand design interspersed with a stamped heart pattern. Her arms are made of a twisted twig that I found on the beach, which I thought symbolized how love comes in waves, with high tides and low, but everlasting. They are encircled by gold wire, beaded and culminating in spun glass hearts. Her face was made from a silk scarf which I painted over and put half of the image in shadow. Her hair is fashioned from wool roving and variegated yarn with a ribbon and beaded headpiece and the repeated glass heart.
