According to John Walk (author of many Fenton reference books) Frank Fenton was inspired by a basket that he purchased at an antique show. From this purchase Fenton designed and produced Vasa Murrhina which translates to "vessel of gems." Several items including baskets best, vases, pitchers were produced in five different blends of colors.
