Large Handthrown Pottery Serving Bowl Sand and Sea Ceramic Bowl. Everyday use stoneware bowl: Perfect as a large salad bowl, vegetable bowl, pasta bowl or soup bowl. One of a kind unique gift, Coastal Decor, Beach Decor, Boho, large stoneware dinnerware bowl.

I handmade this with white stoneware clay on a pottery wheel. A day or so later I trimmed a sturdy foot. After it was completely dry, I kiln bisque-fired it to cone 04 (1945*F) for about 24 hours. Then I glaze-painted and layered it with 4 premium glazes, Sea Salt, Winterwood, Norse Blue and Celadon Bloom with multiple layers of each and drying between each coat. Finally I fired it to cone 6 (2232 degrees F) for over 36 hours.
High temperature firing results in stronger more durable stoneware —might survive into infinity!

I love throwing pieces. Glaze painting with multiple layered glazes is another passion and often experimental. Every piece comes out differently, even when I think I have used the same materials, glazes and kiln temperature and firing length and process. There are so many variables. This means all of my work is one of a kind. This is mainly because stoneware glazes can run quite unpredictably at high kin temperatures. And that is where the magic lies!
