Gallerymichel Herta Gertz Pottery B.C. Ceramics Canada best Dogwood Jug and Dish

Two lovely pieces by Herta Gertz, of B.C. Ceramics. Born in Germany, Herta studied at the art institute in Hanau and eventually best ran her own factory in Gelnhausen (from 1946 to 1951). She immigrated to Canada with her husband in the early 50's and established B.C. Ceramics in Vancouver where she continued production until 1967.

Both are in top condition. Some burst bubbles (not broken) on the flowers in the bottom of the dish, and a variations in the brown background (photos 4 and 5). There are no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing on either piece.
