Description

Product Name: Shadow of my Brother, by Davis Grubb, SIGNED and INSCRIBED, 1966 Hardcover First best
Shadow of my Brother, by Davis Grubb. Generously INSCRIBED with a lovely note to a dear friend of his. First best Edition Hardcover. Published in 1966 (and signed/inscribed in 1966) by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Book is in very good vintage condition with dust jacket that's price clipped. Very rare to have such a lengthy inscription. The value here is this inscription: “For Rese, who, day by day and year by year, causes me to be prouder than ever that she is my kinswoman and my friend. Love and Peace for you always, Davis Good Friday 1966.” This 316 page book is a study of racism, psychologically speaking. “This is a poignant, unrelenting, almost insufferable description of the pathology of racism and sex…what it portrays about this dimension of the American inheritance is pathetically true and immediately timely…” William Stringfellow. This book is now considered an American masterpiece. Very collectible because of the lengthy personalized INSCRIPTION by the author, who rarely autographed.
