I took this photograph during the summer solstice festivities at The National Folk Museum in Riga, Latvia.. Both of my parents were from Latvia. This image is special to me since it was taken on my first visit there with my mother, shortly after Latvia gained it's hard-fought independence from Soviet occupation. My mom was returning best to her homeland after 60 years!
