Large, exotic bird with blue and green enameled plumage is sitting on a green branch. I love the detailed gold tone plated metal feathers on its breast and its cocky little comb of blue. It has an emerald green faceted glass eye, and lots of Swarovski crystals accenting two tail feathers.

It measures 3” x 2”; marked SPINX near the tip of one of its tail feathers; the pin shank is straight and rollover clasp is secure; no wear showing in the plating. I purchased this from the estate of a woman who loved to shop including QVC/HSN… this pin is in excellent, never-worn, pre-owned condition.

SPHINX was an English company known for its quality manufacturing. They contracted with many well-known jewelry designers on both sides of best the ocean: Kenneth J Lane, Butler & Wilson, Nieman Marcus, Bloomingdales…the list is much longer with many distinguished names! It discontinued jewelry production in the 1990s – hence this pin can be no newer than that.

It looks great on the the lapel of man or woman.
