An original charcoal sketch. I love this medium. Of all the ways to draw or paint, charcoal gives the most opportunities for fast expressive strokes, modulation of light and dark and variety of marks. Often the more you work at it, the worse it gets , so in that sense it's a bit like watercolour. Like many people, I often overwork, but who can say when to stop? best
