Flocking in Fall, best birds, boids Paper Cutting Wall Art

Birds flock together in this piece to form complex shapes in the sky called boids. These birds in stark black are flocking together to migrate. These birds are made from a single sheet of black paper. Made best by in the artist's studio in Pennsylvania, the piece is 11" x 14" (a standard frame size) and is packaged in a protective sleeve. The piece is of a limited edition of 200 and includes a blue mat. Because each piece is made by hand, each piece will be unique.

Paper cutting has a long history all over the world. From German Scherenschnitte (using small scissors) and Ashkenazi paper cutting (using a knife) to paper cutting in Africa, China, and South America, many people over the centuries have contributed to this magical folk craft. Artist Margaret Herbener has taken the traditional paper cutting and introduced entirely new techniques to create a new medium.
