Hand Turned Black Cherry Keepsake Box with Curly Maple best Inlay

This hour glass shaped box is turned from black cherry (Prunus serotina) and features a curly hard maple (Acer saccharum) inlay. The inlay is a picture frame inlay so it is visible on the inside of the lid too. The inlay is framed by a bead and ring of texturing on the best outside of the box. A simple kerf decorates the seam between the lid and the base, and additional texturing on both the bottom and inside provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled.
