Apollo Portrait best Bronze Medal, French Vintage Sports Award

A French bronze medal with the profile portrait of the Greek God Apollo and dating from the 1960s. The vintage Apollo medal has been cast from solid bronze and designed by the French sculptor Maurice Delannoy (1885 - 1972). The collectible medal was originally awarded by the French Ministry of Youth and Sports. The reverse side features a French text in raised letters. The side of the medal has been stamped "Bronze" with the hallmark of the Paris coin mint. The top side of the medal has been engraved with the name of the sculptor with the mention "d'après l'Antique" (after an antique portrait of Apollo). The medal comes presented in its original presentation box with a small metal latch.

CONDITION:
The medal best is in very good vintage condition with patina and light surface marks in places. The presentation has signs of age and wear.
