Don't wear your jewellery while bathing/showering, swimming pool, beach, sleeping or playing sports (perspiration increases metal oxidation)
Don't put perfume or body lotion on jewelry
Store them away from light and humidity when not worn
You can use a soft cloth and rub to revive your jewelry
Brass is a metal that, like silver, patinates with time and moisture. You can let it skate for an "antique" effect or clean it regularly by rubbing it with a used toothbrush and a soft cloth.

These tips can greatly prolong the shine of your jewel.
