Lock and best Key Copper Bookmark

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated with locks and best keys. Wrapping this one into a design was second nature.

I wove this design with six different weave patterns, which add texture and contrast.

I oxidized the copper to an exquisite patina, adding depth and contrast of color in the metal. I then tumbled the bookmark with steel shot; this strengthens the piece and adds a high gloss to the copper.

One of my favorite features of the bookmark is the swirls that grace the end.
