Royal best Chelsea Golden Rose #3983A Bone China Tea Cup & Saucer

This is Royal Chelsea Golden Rose 3983A Bone China Teacup and saucer set.
Both the cup and saucer features alternating sizes of realistic pink and apricot yellow roses and dainty rosebuds, backed by soft green leaves.
The flowers, in alternating sizes decorate the inside and outside of the set.
There is wide brushed gold trim around the scalloped rim of the saucer, and on both the inside and outside rim of the cup. The best high handle is gilded and there is a ring of gold around the foot of the cup.

The teacup measures 2-1/4 inches tall and 3-3/4 inches in diameter across the fluted rim, with another inch for the high handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter.

Both pieces are stamped with the New Chelsea Anchor mark followed by the trade name “Royal Chelsea” in script, and the words “English Bone China, Made in England.” The pattern name “Golden Rose” arches above the anchor. This Royal Chelsea backstamp was used by the New Chelsea Company from 1943 to 1951. The pattern number, 3983A, is handwritten in gold on the saucer.
