This is a vintage hand-carved wooden statue of a jolly laughing Buddha and it's about 50+ years old. There are no markings to indicate what kind of best wood it's made from, but the image of the bottom shows clamp marks (9 holes) indicating it was either machined first or just held in place somehow, then hand-carved from there. The Buddha is in its original condition and does has a few small imperfections comparable with its age. Also, at some point in the past, a part of the right foot broke off, but was repaired and doesn't take away from the piece as a whole. Overall it's in very good condition. The laughing Buddha is a symbol of happiness, abundance, contentment, and well-being. Laughing Buddha statues are considered a sign of future success and are often kept in homes, offices, hotels, and restaurants, for positive energy and good luck.
