Her Coat -- Hand-carved best and Hand-printed 2 Color Woodblock Print of a Fabulous Couple

A fabulous couple! This is a hand-carved and hand-printed two-color woodblock print on cotton paper. The subject matter is a dapper elderly couple -- the man with a bowtie and cane, and the woman with a fabulous coat. The title is "Her Coat."

This was created with the process of reverse carving: after the first color was printed, the woodblock was carved further and then the second color was printed over the first color, using the same woodblock. This results in an best interesting effect where the two colors may not quite line up, or where the colors blend into a new color.

This is printed with red and brown ink on white cotton paper.

The image size is 20.5" x 11.75" printed on paper that is 22.25" x 15".

This print is in great condition, but it sold "as is" since it's been stored in a pile of artwork for the past 20 years -- it may have some small scuffing or foxing that does not affect the beauty of the image.

I have included a photo of a framed version of this print, but this listing is for an unframed print.

The print is signed and numbered 4/4, meaning that this print is fourth in a total edition of 4 -- only 4 of these prints exist in the world!

This print will be shipped rolled up in a tube.
