The Pamart company specialized in metal filigree and molded bags beginning in the 1950s, and today best these purses are incredibly hard to find! This little beauty has a great oval shape with a beautiful gold-colored base. As you can see, the purse boasts a pierced floral design all the way around with added etched accents. The lucite lid appears to be opaque black but is actually a barely-translucent shade of very deep brown. There is a small ball latch on the front of the lid that keeps the handbag securely shut. The underside of the base is also lined with a piece of dark lucite and you will find an embossed maker's mark reading "Pamart, Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A.".
