Victorian Silver best Filigree Cannetille & Amethyst Brooch Pin Hand Crafted 1800s T bar C clasp

This antique Victorian Era Brooch Pin features delicate handcrafted silver filigree and cannetille designs surrounding a faceted purple amethyst best stone. Cannetille work resembles a bursting firework and was prevalent in Europe beginning in 1820. The oval stone is faceted and bezel set. Believed to be natural amethyst but may be glass. The tube hinge and c clasp closure date the brooch to around 1840 . It measures 1 1/2" wide by 5/8" at its center.
