Large Glit Pottery Wall best Plate

This large ceramic plate is by the Glit Pottery of best Iceland, renowned for incorporating volcanic rock into their designs. This example is in a fiery red glaze that darkens into black toward the edge of the plate. There are generous additions of volcanic rock to the center of the plate, giving extreme texture. On the back there are two holes ready for wire and hanging on a wall. It has the impressed mark of an erupting volcano as shown. In excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or glaze flaws. The last photo shows the plate in natural light on a cloudy day.
