best Sheep Heart Ornament. I constructed a Pink Flowered Fabric Heart ornie, then I needlefelted a baaautiful sheep to hang in your home as a decoration. A great gift for a sheep lover. I used excellent quality fabric, stuffed with fiberfill and a burlap twine hanger, Then I used wool produced here at liongate farm by our own flock of blue faced leicester sheep to needle felt a curly locked sheep. The sheep is wearing a burlap twine and rusty bell necklace.

Needle felting is a popular fiber arts craft that creates felt without the use of water. Special needlea that are used in industrial felting machines are used by the artist as a felting tool. They in fact have notches along the shaft of the needle that grab the top layer of fibers and tangle them with the inner layers of the wool. Since rhe notches face down toward the tip of the needle they do not pull the fibers out as the needle exits the wool. Once tangled and compresswd using the needle the felt can be strong and used for sculpting.
