Fine best Silver Mehndi Floral Spinner Earrings

These large mehndi spinner earrings have been handcrafted from fine silver and best sterling silver. The mehndi floral design comes from the body art of Ancient India, in which decorative designs are created on a person's body, using a paste, created from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant.

The 99.9% pure silver components are 1-1/8 inches (28mm) across, created from a soft and pliable form of fine silver. I apply the mehndi texture. Each component is cut, dried and sanded. Then they are kiln-fired for 2 hours while the binder burns away, leaving behind a total of over 8 grams of pure sintered silver. The mehndi texture has been given an oxidized patina to bring out the richness of the design.

The mehndi flowers spin on handmade 1-1/8 inch sterling silver hoops that fasten behind the ear.
